About me
Hi, I’m Nadine – a cultural critic and recovering idealist figuring things out in public, trying to find a better, more inclusive way to live.
It’s Nadine is where I think out loud about the world: the books I read, the places I go, the systems we live under, and the quiet (and not-so-quiet) ways people try to survive them. It’s part blog, part reckoning, part archive. Nothing here is neutral – but it’s always honest.
I write from the perspective of a Black, neurodivergent, cis-gender woman – an Oxford graduate living at the intersection of invisible disability, chronic illness, and intermittent mobility impairment – all shaped by systemic inequity, navigating life in a world that wasn’t built with people like me in mind.
This space is for those tired of performing. Tired of pretending. Tired of being told it’s just them – and looking for something that feels real.
If you’re searching for meaning in a world that often makes no sense, you’re in the right place – because I’m looking too.
If you’re craving clarity, critique, or even just a bit of company, welcome.
I don’t promise answers. But I do offer reflection, resistance, the occasional recommendation – and what I hope are incredibly helpful resources.
Whether you’re here for the blogs, the books, the vibes, or just passing through – I’m glad you made it.
Thanks for being here.
Nadine 😃
